we are what we do
Each day, we shape ourselves to become something.
Spending 10 hours a day working on a novel? You're a writer. 9 hours of your day are spent at the office? You're your job title. You’re becoming whatever you spend your time on. So why just be one "thing"?
If you repeatedly tell yourself that you're not good enough, the same rule applies. If it's in your head that you can't do something, you'll miss the mark. If you believe in yourself and the power of pursuit, you'll achieve your goals. This is a simple concept, and so many of us either don't know it, or choose to ignore it.
Sometimes, all it takes is to change your inner channel to a positive thought. I know, you've heard this a million times. But I'm not just regurgitating words I've heard from whatever motivational universe book you've read recently; I'm speaking from experience.
Here's what happens: you tune your own frequency to the vibe of what you want. This sounds super spiritual and universe-y, and you might think I'm crazy, but it's actually real. I know this because it's worked for me trillions of times. It will continue working for me because I believe in the power of my own thoughts, beliefs, and gut feelings.
When you have a gut feeling, that's your body physically telling you that you're right. How many times have you had a pit in your stomach right before you were delivered bad news? How many times have you been pre-stoked about something that later turned out to be an incredible experience?
If you really think back, I'm sure you'll notice that your "gut" tells you when you're about to experience something bad or good. This isn't for nothing. Scientists might say something about adrenaline or fight/flight. But I'm telling you right now that your most powerful feelings give way to powerful actions and interactions.
So, if you repeatedly smile, I promise you, you will feel happier. Because you're putting those vibes out there. If you repeatedly speak badly about your job, you will continue seeing the negatives of working there. Eventually, strongly positive/negative actions and words will turn into strongly positive/negative reactions and experiences.
What you're not realizing is that it's up to you. You guide yourself, you teach yourself, you fall into these patterns on your own accord.
So what do you choose to be?
